SFISH National Communication Workshops (2023)

Overview:

PERSGA implemented national communication workshops in all member states under the framework of the SFISH Project during September-November 2023. A two-day workshop was held in each member country for a wide range of governmental and non-governmental stakeholders, including fishery authorities /associations, research institutes and environmental parties/NGOs. More than 400 persons participated at these workshops. At the end of each workshop, participants provided some recommendations/suggestions for developing the SFISH activities. These recommendations were considered for this purpose. Different media, including national TV channels and press, covered activities of the workshop in each member countries to enhance the objectives of the Project.

Objectives:

The national commination workshops were held for the three main objectives:

To introduce the SFISH Project;
To Raise awareness of Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated (IUU) Fishing; and
To Exchange information and obtaining feedback on the SFISH Project
